Xcel Team

The Colorado Xcel Program

The Colorado Xcel Program is a competitive gymnastics program sanctioned by USA Gymnastics.  It is a less intensive program than the Junior Olympics Program of USAG.  It is designed to provide a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Jr. Olympic Program to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes.

Who Can Participate?

The Xcel program is open to all female gymnasts, upon the recommendation of their coach or program director.  Gymnasts must belong to a USAG member club, and must become introductory members of USAG to participate.  Training is year-round with the competitive season typically starting in late March and continuing through to the State Meets in late June.  Gymnasts in the Xcel program typically practice two to three nights per week with a training regimen that generally runs between 4 to 10 hours per week.  This less intensive schedule allows for gymnasts to participate in other activities, be it dance, soccer or piano.
